28 Weeks

What a week!!!!

Last Thursday EM was very sick.  He had fever (103.7 F) and tummy upset.  :(  I picked him up from school and deposited him on the sofa.  There he stayed.  I watched him non-stop.  I tried to just be near him and read a book or do work online.  But I was too consumed with him mentally.  I couldn't concentrate on anything.  My baby was sick. I didn't want to take him to the doctor (for reasons we won't get into), so I drugged him with a fever reducer ever 6 hours and kept him hydrated.  But by 10:30 he was still holding on to that fever (it had come and gone and come again throughout the day).  I watched him overnight, plotted my route to the hospital, and prayed!  His fever broke over night.  Around 2:30 AM.  By the time he woke he was ready to get into everything.  I'm like, "Hold up, little dude.  Go sit your tail down somewhere."  He wasn't pleased and neither was the rest of the house.  We watched all four versions of Shrek and Cars I & II several times the rest of the weekend.  But I wasn't about to have my little munchkin getting sick again.   I'm so thankful that he doesn't get sick often and when he does, it usually is very short lived.  I think this illness was due to the cool temps, heavy sand storms and very low humidity.  Every one around here has a story about their kids (or them) being sick this month.
EM has entered into the picky eater phase.  I don't like it one bit.  If he stays with me long enough I can get him to eat good stuff, but most of the time, he'll put the fork to his lips (with the lips closed), put the fork down and report, I don't like it.  He asks me to feed him, which I refuse to do.  He'll feed himself when's hungry.  So I'm not really worried, I just don't like the idea of wasting time that we could be spending together doing something else.

EM is really diggin' this Big Brother roll.  He is constantly hugging and kissing the bump.  :)  Unfortunately a the mood will strike him in the middle of the grocery store and he'll pull up my shirt and declare, "I want to kiss my brover."  Not really the best situation is a conservative country.   LOL  I try to convince him that he's brother gets cold when we leave the house, so we have to make sure to keep him covered when we go out.  Usually, that will work.  :)  I really hope these good feelings last, but I'm not going to be delusional about the whole thing.

Babylove #2 is doing well.  Lots of kicks and a few jabs.  I'm feeling good and can't complain about a thing.  I'm finally to the point where I can look in the mirror at my fabulous shape and be delighted.  It's amazing what's going on in there.  It's even more amazing to know that everything that was in there before is still in there with the baby.

From BabyCenter.com
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

I keep forgetting my camera - pictures to come soon.  ;)
