Swimmingly

When E was a babe he loved the pool.  Loved it!  When he hit about 15 months (right about the time we moved to the land of sand) he grew more fearful of the water.  He had gotten so fearful of being in the water that he didn't even want to leave the steps of the pool (though he'd happy play on the steps for more than an hour.)

One of his weekly activities at school is swimming.  You should have heard the pleas to not go when he knew that swimming was coming up.  Fast forward to the end of the day.  "Mommy, mommy guess what!"  Me, "What?  E loves me?"  E, "Yes, but guess what else!"  "I put my face in the water!  I was a big boy and I didn't cry."  To reward him, I put my post partum momminess into a swimming suit (that part wasn't the reward) and took him to the pool(this part was the reward. :)).  He loved it.  I got over the post partum momminess and enjoyed my kiddo having a blast in the pool.

"Look!  I'm like Auntie D!"
